Pilgrimage to the Church of the Holy Family, Kajang | 17 May 2026

A total of 59 pilgrims from the Church of Our Lady of Fatima journeyed to the Church of the Holy Family, Kajang, in conjunction with the Jubilee Year of the Holy Family.

The pilgrimage began with excitement and fellowship as pilgrims of all ages travelled together in prayer and joy. Upon arrival, the group was warmly welcomed by volunteers from the Church of the Holy Family before participating in the Pilgrimage Walk around the historic parish grounds.

Pilgrims reflected and prayed through the nine designated stations while learning about the rich history of the parish, which celebrates 125 years of existence, as well as the 25th anniversary of its Millennium church building. The group also visited an exhibition showcasing historical items, photographs, and memories from the parish’s long journey of faith.

A meaningful highlight of the pilgrimage was the veneration of the relics of Saints Louis and Zelie Martin, the patron saints of family life and parents of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. Gathering in prayer before the relics, pilgrims entrusted their families, marriages, and loved ones to the intercession of these holy saints.

The pilgrimage, organised by the OLF Family Life Ministry and accompanied by Fr. Andrew Manickam, became a grace-filled experience of prayer, fellowship, reflection, and renewal during this special Jubilee Year.

60th World Day of Social Communications & Teachers Day | 17 May 2026

The Church celebrated the 60th World Day of Social Communications under the theme, “Preserving Human Voices and Faces.”

In his message for this year’s observance, Pope Leo XIV reflected on the responsibility of ensuring that technological developments, especially artificial intelligence, always uphold the dignity of the human person and strengthen authentic human relationships.

The Holy Father emphasized the importance of human communication rooted in truth, compassion, and genuine encounter, reminding the faithful that technology should serve humanity and not replace it.

During the weekend Masses at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, a special blessing was offered for those serving in Mass Media Ministry, journalism, and communications-related fields.

The parish also took the opportunity to remember and appreciate teachers in conjunction with Teachers Day celebrated in Malaysia on 16 May. Gratitude was expressed to all educators for their dedication, sacrifices, and commitment in shaping lives and nurturing future generations.

May God continue to bless and guide all who serve through communication, education, and the sharing of truth and knowledge.

Ad Limina Visit of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei

From 18 to 23 May 2026, the bishops of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Malaysia, Singapore and Brunei (CBCMSB) will undertake their Ad Limina Apostolorum visit to Rome.

The Ad Limina visit, which means “to the thresholds of the apostles,” is a significant pilgrimage where bishops visit the tombs of Saints Peter and Paul, meet with various Vatican dicasteries, and gather in communion with the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV.

The faithful are invited to keep our bishops in prayer during this important journey of faith, discernment, and unity with the universal Church.

A special time of prayer will be held at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima on Monday, 18 May 2026:

• 9:30 AM — Holy Hour
• 10:00 AM — Holy Rosary
• 10:40 AM — Benediction
• 11:00 AM — Holy Eucharist

Let us pray that this pilgrimage may renew and strengthen our bishops as they continue shepherding the faithful in Malaysia, Singapore, and Brunei with wisdom, courage, and fidelity.

A Day With Nature: Celebrating the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi | 16 May 2026

In conjunction with the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, the Archdiocesan Creation Justice Ministry organized a joyful outdoor excursion for 19 special children from the Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat.

Held at the Perdana Botanical Garden, the outing was filled with moments of joy, friendship, laughter, exercise, boat rides, music, and appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation. For many of the children, it was their very first visit to the Lake Gardens.

The pleasant weather allowed everyone to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, observe the ducks swimming in the lake, and experience the serenity of nature together. The celebration also coincided with Teachers Day in Malaysia, where warm greetings and appreciation were shared with teachers and caregivers present.

One of the highlights of the day was the arrival of a cheerful mascot, which brought much excitement as meals were distributed and the children eagerly interacted with the beloved “Chipmunk” character.

The outing became a meaningful expression of the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi — fostering joy, simplicity, friendship, and care for creation, while creating beautiful memories for everyone present.

Birthday Blessings for Fr. Simon Agbo | 15 May 2026

The parish community gathered in thanksgiving as Fr. Simon Agbo celebrated the Holy Eucharist together with Fr. Andrew Manickam and Fr. Michael, giving thanks to God for the gift of life and priestly ministry.

In his homily, Fr. Simon reflected on his vocation journey and the many moments throughout his life where God’s grace sustained and guided him. Reflecting on the readings of the day, he reminded the faithful of the importance of remaining close to the Cross and keeping Christ at the centre of our lives.

Fr. Simon also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the warmth, kindness, and hospitality extended to him by Fr. Andrew and the parishioners during his time at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima.

Following the Eucharistic celebration, parishioners gathered for a joyful time of fellowship and a celebratory meal.

We continue to keep Fr. Simon in prayer and wish him abundant blessings, good health, and joy in his priestly ministry.
