Praying for the Victims of the Earthquake in Venezuela

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima invites all parishioners and friends to join in prayer for the victims of the recent earthquake in Venezuela.

In moments of tragedy and suffering, the Church is called to stand in solidarity with our brothers and sisters throughout the world through prayer, compassion, and hope. As one family of faith, we entrust all those affected by this disaster—those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods—to the loving care and mercy of God.

Parishioners are encouraged to light a candle in their homes on 30 June and 1 July as a visible sign of prayer and remembrance.

The Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry will also lead a Candlelight Rosary at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima at 7.30pm on both evenings, praying for the victims, their families, rescue workers, and all who continue to suffer the effects of this tragedy.

May Our Lady of Fatima, Queen of Peace and Comfort of the Afflicted, intercede for the people of Venezuela and bring them strength, consolation, and hope.

“Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.” (Romans 12:15)

Prayer of Reparation for the Blessed Sacrament

The faithful are invited to join the Church in prayer and reparation following the reported theft of the Blessed Sacrament from a hospital in Rome, and in atonement for all acts of sacrilege committed against the Most Holy Eucharist.

For Catholics, the Eucharist is not merely a symbol but the Real Presence of Jesus Christ — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. Any act of disrespect or profanation directed towards the Blessed Sacrament is therefore a cause of profound sorrow for the Church.

In response, the Archdiocese of Rome has called the faithful to prayer and reparation, entrusting the matter to God’s mercy and seeking a renewed love, reverence, and devotion towards the Holy Eucharist.

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima joins this prayerful intention and invites parishioners to spend time before the Blessed Sacrament, offering prayers of reparation and asking the Lord to strengthen our faith in His Eucharistic Presence.

May our prayers become a source of grace, healing, conversion, and renewed reverence for the Most Blessed Sacrament.

Remembering Our Deceased Fathers and Grandfathers

As part of our Father’s Day observance, parishioners gathered to remember and pray for their deceased fathers and grandfathers with gratitude, love, and faith.

Throughout the day, candles were lit in their memory and prayer intentions were placed in the petition box, entrusting them to the loving mercy of God and seeking the intercession of St. Joseph, foster father of Jesus and patron of fathers.

Father’s Day provides a special opportunity to give thanks for the men who have shaped our lives through their love, sacrifice, guidance, and example. Though they may no longer be with us, their influence continues to live on in our families, our faith, and the values they passed on to future generations.

As a parish community, we remember all deceased fathers and grandfathers in prayer, asking the Lord to grant them eternal rest and everlasting peace.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May they rest in peace. Amen.

St. Joseph, pray for all deceased fathers and grandfathers.

Prayer to St. Joseph for Fathers and Families

As the Church honours St. Joseph, guardian of Jesus and chaste spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we are reminded of his quiet strength, faithful service, and unwavering trust in God.

St. Joseph remains a powerful model for all fathers, husbands, workers, and families. Through his loving care for the Holy Family, he teaches us the virtues of humility, perseverance, responsibility, and self-giving love.

The Church invites all the faithful, especially fathers and father figures, to turn to St. Joseph in prayer, entrusting to him their hopes, struggles, responsibilities, and family life. May his example inspire us to remain faithful to our vocation and to place our complete trust in God’s providence.

Let us continue to seek the intercession of St. Joseph for all fathers, families, and those entrusted to our care.

Feast of St. Thomas Pilgrimage – Kuantan 2026

The Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry invites parishioners and friends to join a pilgrimage to the Church of St. Thomas, Kuantan, in celebration of the Feast of St. Thomas and the parish’s 120th anniversary.

Often remembered as “Doubting Thomas,” St. Thomas is more accurately remembered as a disciple whose sincere search for truth led him to one of the most profound professions of faith in the Gospel: “My Lord and my God!” Through his encounter with the Risen Christ, St. Thomas reminds us that authentic faith is not the absence of questions, but the willingness to seek Christ with an open heart.

This pilgrimage offers an opportunity for prayer, fellowship, and spiritual renewal as pilgrims gather to celebrate the life and witness of St. Thomas together with the faithful of Kuantan.

In this Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, may the example of St. Thomas encourage us to deepen our trust in the Lord and strengthen our commitment to living the Gospel each day.

Those interested in joining are invited to contact Marilyn at 017-328-6199 for further information and registration details.

Special Devotional Prayer in Honour of Our Lady of Fatima – 13 June 2026

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima warmly invites all parishioners and friends to join us for the monthly 13th Day Devotion in Honour of Our Lady of Fatima.

This devotion commemorates the apparitions of Our Lady to the three shepherd children — Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta — in Fatima, Portugal, in 1917. Through her message, Our Lady called the faithful to prayer, conversion, penance, and devotion to her Immaculate Heart.

The monthly devotion provides an opportunity for us to gather in prayer, entrusting our families, parish, nation, and the world to the maternal care and intercession of Our Blessed Mother. Through the Rosary, Eucharistic celebration, and prayers of reparation, we seek to deepen our relationship with Christ and renew our commitment to living the Gospel faithfully.

Corpus Christi Procession 2026

On the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ, parishioners and visitors gathered for the annual Corpus Christi Celebration and Eucharistic Procession, publicly witnessing their faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist.

Following the celebration of Holy Mass, the faithful accompanied the Blessed Sacrament in procession through the streets of Brickfields. This cherished tradition is both an act of worship and a public proclamation of the Church’s belief that Christ is truly present — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity — in the Eucharist.

Carried reverently by Fr. Andrew Manickam in the Monstrance, the Blessed Sacrament was sheltered beneath a baldachin borne by members of the Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHC). The baldachin serves as a sign of honour and reverence, reflecting the dignity due to Christ present in the Eucharist.

Throughout the procession, hymns of praise filled the streets as altar servers, ministers, flower girls, and members of the congregation accompanied Our Lord in prayer. The ringing of bells, the fragrance of incense, the scattering of rose petals, and the glow of candlelight created a prayerful atmosphere of devotion and thanksgiving.

At various points along the route, blessings were imparted upon the surrounding neighbourhood and community, reminding all present that Christ walks among His people and continues to bless the world through His Eucharistic presence.

As the faithful sang together:

“O Sacrament Most Holy,
O Sacrament Divine,
All praise and all thanksgiving,
Be every moment Thine.”

may the celebration of Corpus Christi continue to deepen our love for the Eucharist and strengthen our commitment to live as faithful disciples of Christ.

Solemnity of Corpus Christi | Why Do We Process with the Blessed Sacrament?

As we prepare to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, we invite you to reflect on the profound meaning of one of the Church’s most beautiful traditions — the Eucharistic Procession.

Many people are familiar with seeing Catholics walk in procession behind the Blessed Sacrament, often accompanied by candles, hymns, incense, and a ceremonial canopy known as a baldachin. Yet these outward signs point to a much deeper reality.

Corpus Christi is a public proclamation of our belief that Jesus Christ is truly present in the Holy Eucharist — Body, Blood, Soul, and Divinity. The Eucharistic Procession is an opportunity for the faithful to accompany Our Lord beyond the walls of the church and into the streets of our community, witnessing to the central mystery of our faith.

The baldachin carried above the Blessed Sacrament is a sign of honour and reverence, recalling the ancient tradition of sheltering a king. As Catholics, we recognise Christ as our Lord and King, and we accompany Him with prayer, devotion, and thanksgiving.

In a recent address, Pope Leo XIV encouraged Catholics throughout the world to preserve this beautiful tradition, describing Corpus Christi processions as a powerful public witness of faith.

This short video offers a glimpse into the meaning and significance of Corpus Christi and invites all to participate in this year’s celebration.

May it inspire a deeper love for Our Eucharistic Lord and a renewed appreciation for the gift of His abiding presence among us.

“In the Eucharist we contemplate Jesus, bread broken and given for each one of us.”
— Pope Leo XIV

Solemnity of Corpus Christi

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima warmly invites all parishioners and visitors to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, one of the most significant feasts of the Church’s liturgical year.

On this day, we give thanks for the gift of the Holy Eucharist and profess our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Corpus Christi is a celebration of Christ’s abiding presence among His people — nourishing, strengthening, and accompanying us on our journey of faith.

A special highlight of the celebration will be the Candlelight Eucharistic Procession, a public witness of our faith as we accompany the Blessed Sacrament in prayer and devotion. In response to Pope Leo XIV’s recent encouragement to keep alive the beautiful tradition of Corpus Christi processions, we are invited to come together as a parish community to honour Our Lord present in the Eucharist.

🙏 Holy Adoration – 8.00 AM to 5.30 PM
📿 Holy Rosary – 5.30 PM
✝️ Holy Mass – 6.00 PM

May this celebration deepen our love for the Eucharist and renew our commitment to live as disciples of Christ in our daily lives.

An Enriching Encounter

Dear friends, every Thursday, the two of us set out on our usual rounds to visit the sick and pray for those who are homebound. During these visits, we administer the sacraments and offer spiritual support. Today, however, there were three of us, and we continued with our mission of care and prayer.

One memorable encounter was with a wonderful person named Mr. Michael. He has been living in his home for some time, needing pastoral care and companionship. As we were about to begin our prayer, Mr. Michael kindly asked if we could pray the Rosary together or even just a decade of the Rosary. I was momentarily taken aback because we still had several other homes to visit. We proceeded with our prayer, and after Holy Communion, and l heard a gentle whisper within—why not join him for a prayer?

What truly touched us was that earlier, Mr. Michael had wanted to pray for us. Here was a man, frail at 80 years old, in his small room, praying for us. It was a powerful moment—someone who was in need of prayer, offering it in return for our visit. We sat together in his humble space, and Mr. Michael prayed a decade of the Rosary for us.
He ends the decade by asking the powerful intercessions of St Jude and St Anthony.

I can’t fully describe how this encounter moved us. It was a remarkable witness of faith and humility. I believe God wanted Mr. Michael to pray for us, to remind us of the profound power of prayer and the humility needed to receive and give love. This experience touched our hearts deeply, especially as we approach the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which celebrates Christ’s presence in the Eucharist and in every act of love and service.

Thank you, Mr. Michael, for your prayer. Your faith and generosity have left a lasting impression on us. May God bless you abundantly.
