The Malaysia Pastoral Convention 2026 concluded in Sibu on Saturday, 12 September, bringing four days of prayer, listening, sharing, discernment and fellowship to a close.

The final day’s programme included Pastoral Addresses from the bishops of the dioceses, together with the sharing of the Fruits of the Spirit arising from the Convention.

Delegates later gathered for Eucharistic Adoration, offering a solemn moment of thanksgiving for their time together and for the gift and guidance of the Holy Spirit throughout MPC 2026.

The Salib was then carried in procession from the Kingwood Hotel, where the delegates had spent their days together, to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. The procession was accompanied by the praying of the Holy Rosary.

At the Cathedral, the Commissioning Mass marked the conclusion of the Convention and the sending forth of the delegates to their respective dioceses and communities.

A time capsule was also sealed at the foot of the Salib, where it will remain until the next Malaysia Pastoral Convention.

MPC 2026 may have concluded in Sibu, but the journey continues as delegates bring home the fruits of their prayer, conversations and discernment.

🙏 May the Holy Spirit continue to guide the Church in Malaysia, and may the fruits of these four days be lived out in our dioceses, parishes, families and communities.
