Solemnity of Corpus Christi

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima warmly invites all parishioners and visitors to celebrate the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, one of the most significant feasts of the Church’s liturgical year.

On this day, we give thanks for the gift of the Holy Eucharist and profess our faith in the Real Presence of Jesus Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. Corpus Christi is a celebration of Christ’s abiding presence among His people β€” nourishing, strengthening, and accompanying us on our journey of faith.

A special highlight of the celebration will be the Candlelight Eucharistic Procession, a public witness of our faith as we accompany the Blessed Sacrament in prayer and devotion. In response to Pope Leo XIV’s recent encouragement to keep alive the beautiful tradition of Corpus Christi processions, we are invited to come together as a parish community to honour Our Lord present in the Eucharist.

Programme

πŸ™ Holy Adoration – 8.00 AM to 5.30 PM
πŸ“Ώ Holy Rosary – 5.30 PM
✝️ Holy Mass – 6.00 PM
πŸ•―οΈ Candlelight Eucharistic Procession – 7.30 PM

May this celebration deepen our love for the Eucharist and renew our commitment to live as disciples of Christ in our daily lives.

All are welcome.

An Enriching Encounter

Dear friends, every Thursday, the two of us set out on our usual rounds to visit the sick and pray for those who are homebound. During these visits, we administer the sacraments and offer spiritual support. Today, however, there were three of us, and we continued with our mission of care and prayer.

One memorable encounter was with a wonderful person named Mr. Michael. He has been living in his home for some time, needing pastoral care and companionship. As we were about to begin our prayer, Mr. Michael kindly asked if we could pray the Rosary together or even just a decade of the Rosary. I was momentarily taken aback because we still had several other homes to visit. We proceeded with our prayer, and after Holy Communion, and l heard a gentle whisper withinβ€”why not join him for a prayer?

What truly touched us was that earlier, Mr. Michael had wanted to pray for us. Here was a man, frail at 80 years old, in his small room, praying for us. It was a powerful momentβ€”someone who was in need of prayer, offering it in return for our visit. We sat together in his humble space, and Mr. Michael prayed a decade of the Rosary for us.
He ends the decade by asking the powerful intercessions of St Jude and St Anthony.

I can’t fully describe how this encounter moved us. It was a remarkable witness of faith and humility. I believe God wanted Mr. Michael to pray for us, to remind us of the profound power of prayer and the humility needed to receive and give love. This experience touched our hearts deeply, especially as we approach the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, which celebrates Christ’s presence in the Eucharist and in every act of love and service.

Thank you, Mr. Michael, for your prayer. Your faith and generosity have left a lasting impression on us. May God bless you abundantly.

Pope Leo XIV Encourages the Faithful to Keep Corpus Christi Processions Alive

Ahead of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi), Pope Leo XIV has encouraged Catholics throughout the world to preserve and participate in the cherished tradition of Corpus Christi processions.

Speaking during his General Audience, the Holy Father reflected on the importance of these public expressions of faith, describing them as a beautiful witness to belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist. He noted that Eucharistic processions continue to be a powerful manifestation of devotion in many towns, cities, and countries across the world.

“In the Eucharist we contemplate Jesus, bread broken and given for each one of us,” the Pope reminded the faithful.

The Solemnity of Corpus Christi invites Catholics to deepen their love for the Blessed Sacrament and to publicly profess their faith in Christ’s presence in the Eucharist. Through prayer, adoration, and Eucharistic processions, the faithful bear witness to the central mystery of our faith and bring Christ into the heart of our communities.

Pope Leo XIV also took the opportunity to assure priests and religious serving in the Middle East of his prayers and support, and encouraged religious communities throughout the world to remain signs of hope for those seeking God, truth, and peace.

As our parish prepares to celebrate Corpus Christi, may we heed the Holy Father’s invitation by participating wholeheartedly in the liturgical celebrations and Eucharistic Procession, giving public witness to our faith in the Lord who remains with us in the Blessed Sacrament.

Could Your Story of OLF Inspire the Archdiocese?

As we celebrate the Diamond Jubilee of the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, we are reminded that our parish is more than a building β€” it is a living community shaped by faith, service, tradition, and countless personal stories.

The Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur is inviting parishioners to participate in the My Church Parish Story Challenge, a creative competition that celebrates the unique identity and spirit of each parish community.

What is your favourite OLF memory? Perhaps it is a ministry that helped you grow in faith, a parish celebration that brought people together, a cherished tradition, or a person who made a difference in your spiritual journey.

We encourage all parishioners to take part and share the stories that make OLF special. Let us proudly showcase our parish and inspire others through the witness of our faith community.

G.E.M.A. Mass and Fellowship 2026

Media and communications practitioners from across the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur gathered at the Church of St. Anthony, Kuala Lumpur, for the inaugural G.E.M.A. Mass and Fellowship, held in conjunction with the 60th World Day of Social Communications.

The gathering brought together more than 80 participants involved in parish social communications ministries, media, public relations, journalism, digital communications, and content creation. It provided a valuable opportunity for fellowship, networking, and the strengthening of relationships among those engaged in the Church’s mission of communication.

The event commenced with Holy Mass celebrated by His Grace Archbishop Julian Leow. In his reflections, the Archbishop highlighted the importance of truth, integrity, and authentic human communication in an increasingly digital world. He encouraged Catholic communicators to remain faithful witnesses to the Gospel and to use modern communication tools responsibly, particularly in an age where artificial intelligence is becoming increasingly prevalent.

Participants also received a video message from Fr. Dr. Clarence Devadass, Ecclesiastical Assistant to the Archdiocesan Social Communications Ministry, who welcomed those present and reflected on the significance of this year’s World Day of Social Communications.

Following the Mass, participants gathered for fellowship and networking, fostering greater collaboration among media and communications practitioners serving throughout the Archdiocese.

As communicators entrusted with sharing the Good News, may we continue to use our gifts and talents to build communion, promote truth, and bring the message of Christ to the wider community.

World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests | OLF

Each year, on the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, the Church observes the World Day of Prayer for the Sanctification of Priests, inviting the faithful to pray in a special way for those called to serve God’s people through the priesthood.

Priests carry the responsibility of proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the Sacraments, shepherding communities, and accompanying the faithful through the joys and challenges of life. This special day reminds us that they, too, rely on the prayers and support of the faithful as they strive to live their vocation with holiness, fidelity, and generosity.

The Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry invites all parishioners to join in prayer for the clergy of the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur. Let us pray that our priests may be strengthened in their ministry, renewed in their love for Christ, and guided by the Sacred Heart of Jesus in all that they do.

Serving Our Neighbours on Wesak Day 🀝

In a spirit of service and neighbourly goodwill, volunteers from the Church of Our Lady of Fatima distributed 250 packets of vegetarian meals to pilgrims and visitors attending the Wesak Day celebrations at the Buddhist Maha Vihara, Brickfields.

Located in the heart of a vibrant and diverse community, our parish is blessed with opportunities to encounter people from different backgrounds, cultures, and faith traditions. Through simple acts of generosity and service, we seek to contribute towards greater understanding, harmony, and mutual respect among all people.

This outreach reflects the Church’s mission to serve others with compassion and to be a visible presence of Christ’s love within the wider community. Beyond the distribution of meals, it was an opportunity to foster friendship, build connections, and witness to the values of charity and solidarity.

We thank all volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make this initiative possible, and we pray that such gestures of goodwill may continue to strengthen the bonds that unite us as one human family.
