World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation | 5 September 2026

The Archdiocesan Creation Justice Ministry invites the faithful to gather for a Holy Hour and Eucharistic Celebration in observance of the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the Grotto of Our Lady of Fatima, Church of St John Marie Vianney, Tampin.

The gathering takes place during the Season of Creation, the annual ecumenical journey of prayer and commitment to safeguarding our common home. The Season begins on 1 September with the World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation and concludes on 4 October, the Feast of St Francis of Assisi.

This year, Pope Leo XIV will open the Season of Creation by celebrating Mass for the Care of Creation on 1 September at the Laudato Si’ Village in the Pontifical Gardens of Castel Gandolfo. The Church is invited during this season to renew its commitment to creation through prayer, conversion and concrete acts of stewardship.

As Cardinal Michael Czerny reminds us, creation is a gift from God which carries with it a responsibility: caring for creation also means caring for human life, especially the vulnerable and future generations.
