BECs Unite in Prayer at the Perjalanan Salib
Members of several Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs) from across the parish came together on 25 July 2026 to participate in the Perjalanan Salib, gathering in prayer throughout the day as one family in Christ.
The day commenced at 8.30am with members of St Faustina BEC and St Anthony BEC (Pantai Zone). At 10.00am, members from St Jacinta, St Augustine and St John Paul II (Brickfields Zone), St Thérèse of Lisieux (Puchong Zone), and St Valentine and St Jude (Old Klang Road Zone) continued the devotion. The day’s programme concluded in the evening with St Paul BEC, accompanied by Fr. Michael Adawai.
Throughout the various sessions, participants prayed the Holy Rosary, recited the Prayer to St Helena, sang hymns, and offered prayers for the sick, the suffering, the abandoned, and all who are in need of God’s mercy, healing and comfort.
The communities also united in prayer for the Malaysia Pastoral Convention, which will take place in Sibu this September, asking the Holy Spirit to guide its deliberations and bear abundant fruit for the Church in Malaysia.
The bilingual recitation of the Rosary in English and Tamil served as a visible reminder of the universality of the Catholic Church and the unity shared by the faithful despite differences in language and background.
The gathering reflected the mission of the Basic Ecclesial Communities to nurture faith through prayer, fellowship and mutual support, as parishioners continue their pilgrimage together with Christ.
