The Malaysia Pastoral Convention 2026 has concluded, but the call to celebrate, listen and walk in the light of the Lord continues beyond Sibu.
In a new song and reflection, Rev. Fr. Thomas Madanan of the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, Labuan, reflects on what comes after the Convention — when delegates return home and the fruits of prayer, listening and discernment must take root in our families, parishes and communities.
Drawing from his earlier composition “The Charity of Christ Urges Me,” inspired by the missionary life of Mgr. August Wachter, Fr. Thomas now turns the message from “me” to “we”:
“The charity of Christ urges us.”
His reflection also highlights the importance of generations journeying together — experienced leaders sharing their wisdom and entrusting responsibility, while younger leaders are encouraged to step forward in service.
The Convention has concluded. The mission continues.
