Novena to Our Lady of Fatima 2026 — Day 4

“Mary — Model of Obedience”

8 May 2026

The fourth day of the Novena to Our Lady of Fatima gathered parishioners and friends in prayer under the theme “Mary, Model of Obedience.”

During the Holy Hour, the parish community prayed especially for single parents, widows, and widowers, asking the Lord to grant them strength, consolation, courage, and hope in the midst of their responsibilities and struggles.

Celebrating the Novena Mass, Rev. Fr. Simon Agbo reflected on the obedience of Our Blessed Mother and how her life became a perfect response to God’s will. Drawing from the readings of the day, Fr. Simon spoke about love, sacrifice, encouragement, and faithfulness — virtues that were fully lived out in the life of Mary.

He reminded the faithful that Mary’s “Yes” at the Annunciation was given even without fully understanding what lay ahead. Her obedience was rooted in trust and expressed through steadfast love — from the flight into Egypt to standing faithfully at the foot of the Cross beside her Son.

Addressing the single parents, widows, and widowers present, Fr. Simon offered words of encouragement and hope, reminding them not to lose confidence in God during difficult moments. He called on the wider Christian community to accompany and support those carrying heavy burdens, just as the early Church sought to strengthen and encourage others in faith.

Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam concelebrated the Mass and also shared the reflection in Tamil.

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima warmly invites parishioners and friends to continue journeying together through the Novena and Feast Day celebrations.
