Novena to Our Lady of Fatima 2026 — Day 2
“Mary — Model of Hope”
6 May 2026
On the second day of the Novena to Our Lady of Fatima, Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam reflected on Mary’s journey of hope and discipleship, beginning with her courageous “Yes” to God at the Annunciation.
Fr. Andrew reminded the faithful that such a response is only possible through deep faith and trust in God. Mary’s life was presented as a powerful example of hope — a woman who welcomed uncertainty with courage, silently pondering all things in her heart while remaining faithful to God’s will.
Reflecting on Mary standing beneath the Cross during the Crucifixion, Fr. Andrew described this as a posture of courage and steadfast accompaniment. In a special way, mothers were encouraged to remain close to their children, especially during moments of struggle and uncertainty, just as Mary faithfully accompanied Jesus.
Prayers during the Holy Hour were offered for the sick in families, communities, BECs, and hospitals. The evening was coordinated by the OLF MERT (Medical Emergency Response Team), with a special blessing for all members of the ministry.
The parish warmly invites all parishioners and friends to continue participating in the Novena and Feast Day celebrations.
