On 21 July 2026, the parish community of the Church of Our Lady of Fatima joyfully congratulates Rev. Fr. Simon Agbo as he celebrates the 8th Anniversary of his Priestly Ordination.

Fr. Simon concelebrated the Thanksgiving Mass with Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam this morning, giving thanks to God for the gift of his priestly vocation and eight years of faithful ministry in the service of Christ and His Church.

As we celebrate this special milestone, let us keep Fr. Simon in our prayers, asking the Lord to continue blessing him with good health, wisdom, strength and abundant grace. May the Holy Spirit renew his zeal each day as he faithfully proclaims the Gospel, celebrates the Sacraments and shepherds God’s people with joy and compassion.

On 20 July 2026, the Church of Our Lady of Fatima had the privilege of welcoming a delegation of 20 senior police and law enforcement officials from 13 countries, as part of a programme organised through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Following six days of conferences and knowledge-sharing sessions, the delegation spent their final day in Malaysia visiting several places of worship to better understand how different faith communities peacefully coexist within the country’s diverse society.

Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam warmly welcomed the visitors and introduced them to the life of the parish and the Archdiocese of Kuala Lumpur under the pastoral leadership of Archbishop Julian Leow. He shared how the Church of Our Lady of Fatima strives to be a welcoming community where the values of compassion, forgiveness and peace are nurtured and lived out. He also spoke about the parish’s devotion to Our Blessed Mother, whose loving intercession continues to inspire and strengthen the faithful.

Reflecting on the unique character of Brickfields, Fr. Andrew highlighted the harmonious relationship shared among the various places of worship along Jalan Tun Sambanthan. He also expressed appreciation for the close cooperation and support provided by the officers of IPD Brickfields, whose assistance helps ensure the safety and smooth running of major religious celebrations.

Members of the delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm welcome they received and valued the opportunity to visit a Catholic church and experience Malaysia’s spirit of mutual respect and hospitality. Fr. Andrew, in turn, thanked the delegates for their dedicated service to their respective nations and for their shared commitment to promoting peace and security.

The visit concluded with fellowship and friendly conversations over refreshments in Dewan Fatima, fostering new friendships and a deeper appreciation of dialogue, understanding and peaceful coexistence.

The Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry warmly invites all parishioners to celebrate the Feast of St. John Marie Vianney on Tuesday, 4 August 2026, at the Church of St. John Marie Vianney, Tampin.

This special pilgrimage is an opportunity to gather in thanksgiving for the gift of the priesthood and to pray for all our priests, asking the Lord to continue strengthening and guiding them in their ministry.

The pilgrimage will culminate in the 6.00 pm Eucharistic Celebration, where the faithful will unite in prayer for priests serving throughout our Archdiocese and beyond.

Let us come together in prayer for all our priests, thanking God for their faithful service and asking Him to continue blessing their ministry.

From 22 to 28 July 2026, the Church of Our Lady of Fatima will host the Perjalanan Salib (Journey of the Cross) as part of the nationwide pilgrimage leading to the Malaysia Pastoral Convention (MPC) 2026.

This 17-month pilgrimage, which began in April 2025, unites the nine dioceses and archdioceses of Malaysia in a common journey of prayer, reflection and communion. It forms part of the Church’s continuing commitment to strengthen unity and synodality under the theme “Celebrate, Listen, Walk as One Church.”

Throughout the week, our parish community will gather each day to pray for one of the dioceses or archdioceses of Malaysia while reflecting on the four pastoral priorities of the Convention:

• Family
• Church
• Society
• Ecology

In addition, we will lift up in prayer our families, parishioners, brothers and sisters who are ill, our senior citizens and the elderly, our Basic Ecclesial Communities (BECs), those affected by ecological issues, and all who are poor and marginalised.

As we journey together towards the Malaysia Pastoral Convention 2026, may we become a Church that listens more attentively, walks more closely with one another, and bears joyful witness to Christ in our homes, our communities and our nation.

On 17 July 2026, the parish community of the Church of Our Lady of Fatima gives thanks to God as Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam celebrates the 29th Anniversary of his Priestly Ordination.

For twenty-nine years, Fr. Andrew has faithfully answered God’s call to serve His Church through the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, the proclamation of the Gospel, the administration of the Sacraments, and the loving care of God’s people. His priestly ministry has been a source of spiritual guidance, hope and encouragement to countless individuals and families.

As we mark this special milestone, we invite all parishioners to join in praying for Fr. Andrew—that the Lord will continue to bless him with good health, wisdom, strength and renewed zeal as he carries out the mission entrusted to him.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide him, the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Priests, watch over him, and may St. John Vianney intercede for him as he continues to shepherd God’s people with joy and fidelity.

Happy 29th Sacerdotal Anniversary, Fr. Andrew. Ad multos annos!

On 16 July, the Church celebrates the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, one of the oldest Marian devotions in the Catholic tradition.

The title “Our Lady of Mount Carmel” traces its origins to Mount Carmel in the Holy Land, where Christian hermits dedicated their lives to prayer under the patronage of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Over the centuries, this devotion has become closely associated with the Carmelite Order and the Brown Scapular, a sign of Mary’s loving protection and our commitment to follow Christ faithfully.

The feast reminds us that Mary is our spiritual mother, always leading us to her Son and encouraging us to live lives of faith, prayer and charity. Through her maternal intercession, we are invited to place our trust in God and to persevere in hope, especially during life’s trials.

As a parish dedicated to Our Lady of Fatima, we joyfully join the universal Church in honouring Our Lady under this cherished title, asking her to accompany us on our journey of faith.

The Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry warmly invites parishioners to a Pilgrimage to the Chapel of Portiuncula (SFA) on Saturday, 18 July 2026, held in conjunction with the Special Year of St. Francis of Assisi (2026–2027).

Declared by Pope Leo XIV, this special year calls the faithful to imitate the holiness of St. Francis by living lives of peace, humility and active charity. It is an invitation to deepen our relationship with Christ through prayer, reflection and acts of love towards others.

The pilgrimage will include:

• Eucharistic Celebration at the Chapel of Portiuncula
• Veneration of the relics of St. Francis of Assisi and other saints
• Time for personal prayer and reflection
• Visits to the Grotto of Our Lady of Fatima, Gethsemane Garden, Calvary Hill and the Grotto of St. Michael

Departure: 8.00 am from the Church of Our Lady of Fatima (or Pondok Polis NU Sentral)
Fee: RM20 (inclusive of transportation and refreshments)

Every Thursday, our parish visits the sick and homebound, bringing the comfort of Christ through prayer, the Sacraments and a listening ear. Today (Thursday, 9 July 2026), during one such visit, Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam experienced an unexpected and heartwarming encounter.

After administering the Sacraments to a 95-year-old retired school teacher, Fr. Andrew spent some time chatting with her. To his surprise, their conversation quickly turned to the FIFA World Cup. She spoke enthusiastically about the tournament, mentioned some of her favourite players, and even shared her hope of coming to the parish to watch the World Cup Final with fellow parishioners at Dewan Fatima.

Her enthusiasm is a beautiful reminder that age is no barrier to enjoying life’s simple pleasures or remaining actively connected with the community. Whether through prayer, fellowship or even a shared love of sport, meaningful relationships continue to enrich our lives at every stage.

As we prepare to gather for the World Cup Final, may this encounter encourage us to cherish our grandparents and elderly, value their stories and experiences, and continue building a parish where every generation feels welcomed, included and at home.

As the Lord reminds us:

May we always be a parish where our elderly are cherished, accompanied and celebrated.

Today, the Church of Our Lady of Fatima joyfully celebrated the 10th Sacerdotal Anniversary of Rev. Fr. Michael Adawai during the Thanksgiving Mass.

In his homily, Fr. Michael reflected on the evening before his priestly ordination. Filled with anticipation and gratitude, he spent that night praying the Rosary, entrusting his hopes, intentions and future ministry to God through the loving intercession of Our Lady.

Giving thanks for the many blessings he has received over the past ten years, Fr. Michael shared how Malaysia has become his second home. He also expressed his heartfelt appreciation for the close friendship he shares with Fr. Andrew and for the warmth and support of the parishioners of the Church of Our Lady of Fatima.

Drawing from today’s Gospel, Fr. Michael reminded the faithful that, like the disciples, we are all called and sent forth to grow in compassion, remain steadfast in love, and bring the presence of Christ to everyone we encounter through our words and actions.

The celebration concluded with a joyful time of fellowship after Mass as parishioners gathered to congratulate Fr. Michael and give thanks for his faithful priestly ministry.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Fr. Michael on this special milestone and pray that God continues to bless him with good health, wisdom, joy and many more fruitful years in His service.
