🏸 Five Churches, One Day of Fellowship

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Brickfields, in collaboration with the YMCA, organised the 2nd Interchurch Badminton Fellowship 2026 on Saturday, 8 August, bringing together more than 50 participants and volunteers for a day of friendly competition and fellowship.

Held with the blessing of Parish Administrator Fr. Andrew Manickam, the event brought together five churches:

Church of the Holy Rosary, Brickfields
Jesus Caritas Church, Kepong
Tamil Methodist Church Kuala Lumpur
Church of St. Francis Xavier, Petaling Jaya
Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Brickfields

Participants from different age groups took to the courts, demonstrating how sport can provide an enjoyable way of building friendships and strengthening fellowship across church communities.

This year’s competition adopted a team format comprising Men’s Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Mixed Doubles.

At the end of the competition, Jesus Caritas Church, Kepong emerged as the overall champions. Church of St. Francis Xavier, Petaling Jaya finished second, while Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Brickfields secured third place.

Beyond the final results, the fellowship provided an opportunity for Christians from different church communities to meet, compete and enjoy one another’s company in a spirit of friendship and mutual respect.

OLF extends its appreciation to the YMCA, all participating churches, organisers, volunteers and players who contributed towards making the second Interchurch Badminton Fellowship an enjoyable and memorable occasion.
