Journeying with St. Francis of Assisi — Jubilee Year Pilgrimage (1 May 2026)

In conjunction with the Jubilee Year dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, the KL Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry organised a pilgrimage to Ipoh, bringing together 132 pilgrims for a day of prayer, reflection, and fellowship.

The pilgrimage began at the Chapel of St. Francis of Assisi, Tasek, where many participants made their first visit. The group participated in the Eucharistic Celebration, with reflections centred on the life and spirituality of St. Francis — a saint deeply united with Christ.

Fr. Andrew encouraged pilgrims to carry home the spiritual fruits of the pilgrimage, while also reflecting on the quiet yet steadfast faith of St. Joseph, inviting all to grow in trust and devotion.

The journey continued with visits to the Church of Our Lady of Lourdes, Silibin, where the history of the church and its altar — depicting the Last Supper — was shared, and the Church of St. Joseph, Batu Gajah, where pilgrims gathered to pray the Rosary and reflect on the heritage of the parish.

The KL Archdiocesan Prayer Ministry extends its sincere appreciation to the parish communities for their warm hospitality and welcome.

This pilgrimage served as a meaningful reminder of the grace found in journeying together in faith.

Tamil Charismatic Rally 2026

1 May 2026

A total of 248 participants from across the Archdiocese gathered at the Church of Our Lady of Fatima, Brickfields, for the Tamil Charismatic Rally 2026 — a Spirit-filled day of praise, worship, Eucharistic Adoration, and healing prayers.

The highlight of the rally was the sharing by Rev. Fr. Peter Anthoney, who encouraged all to surrender to the Holy Spirit and trust in God’s divine plan. He reflected on the Four Pillars of the Catholic Faith — Creed, Sacraments, Life in Christ, and Prayer — reminding the faithful that these form the foundation of a complete and living faith.

Participants were also led into deeper reflection on the Holy Trinity and the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, which guide and strengthen us in our spiritual journey.

The rally was a grace-filled and uplifting experience, renewing hearts and deepening faith among all who attended.

Special thanks to our Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Andrew Manickam, for providing us with this meaningful opportunity.

St. Gertrude’s Prayer & Remembrance of the Holy Souls

In preparation for the Novena Masses, parishioners are invited to remember their departed family members and loved ones through prayer.

Names of the departed may be written on a piece of paper and placed in the designated box before the statue of Our Lady of Fatima. These intentions will be included in the Holy Mass each day from 5 May to 12 May.

This is a meaningful opportunity for the parish community to come together in prayer, entrusting the souls of the faithful departed to God’s mercy and love.

Heavenly Father,

You have raised Your servant, Pope Leo XIV, to the Chair of Saint Peter.

Pour out Your abundant blessings upon him.

Through him, guide Your pilgrim Church along the path to Heaven.
Grant him wisdom to discern Your will,
Courage to fulfill it,
And charity to shepherd Your people.

Remembering Pope Leo in our Holy Hour and Mass this evening (8 May 2026).

A Day With Nature: Celebrating the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi

16 May 2026

In conjunction with the Jubilee Year of St. Francis of Assisi, the Archdiocesan Creation Justice Ministry organized a joyful outdoor excursion for 19 special children from the Persatuan Kanak-Kanak Istimewa Hulu Langat.

Held at the Perdana Botanical Garden, the outing was filled with moments of joy, friendship, laughter, exercise, boat rides, music, and appreciation for the beauty of God’s creation. For many of the children, it was their very first visit to the Lake Gardens.

The pleasant weather allowed everyone to enjoy the peaceful surroundings, observe the ducks swimming in the lake, and experience the serenity of nature together. The celebration also coincided with Teachers Day in Malaysia, where warm greetings and appreciation were shared with teachers and caregivers present.

One of the highlights of the day was the arrival of a cheerful mascot, which brought much excitement as meals were distributed and the children eagerly interacted with the beloved “Chipmunk” character.

The outing became a meaningful expression of the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi — fostering joy, simplicity, friendship, and care for creation, while creating beautiful memories for everyone present.

60th World Communications Sunday
17 May 2026

The Church celebrates the 60th World Communications Sunday with the theme: “Preserving Human Voices and Faces.”

In his message for this year’s observance, Pope Leo XIV reminds the faithful that technological progress — especially in the age of artificial intelligence — must always uphold the dignity of the human person and strengthen genuine human relationships.

As the Church continues to engage with modern means of communication, the faithful are invited to reflect on the responsibility of using media, technology, and communication platforms with truth, compassion, wisdom, and integrity.

Special prayers and blessings will be offered during all Masses on Sunday, 17 May 2026, for all those serving in media, journalism, communications, and evangelisation ministries.

Let us continue to pray that all forms of communication may become instruments of hope, truth, peace, and human dignity.

Special Devotional Prayer in Honour of Our Lady of Fatima

The Church of Our Lady of Fatima invites all parishioners and friends to journey together in prayer through the monthly 13th Day Devotion in honour of Our Lady of Fatima.

This devotion commemorates the Marian apparitions at Fatima in 1917, where Our Blessed Mother appeared to the three shepherd children — Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta — calling the world to prayer, repentance, and deeper devotion to Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.

Following our recent Parish Feast Day celebrations, the parish community will continue this spiritual devotion each month from May to October, gathering in prayer for peace in the world, for families, and for the needs of the Church.

The next devotion will take place on Saturday, 13 June 2026:

4:30 pm — Holy Hour
5:30 pm — Holy Benediction
6:00 pm — Holy Eucharist
7:15 pm — Mini Procession

All are warmly invited to come and pray together under the loving intercession of Our Lady of Fatima.
